Heather majored in Business Management at Indiana State University and also earned her Juris Doctorate at Oklahoma City University School of Law. In 2002, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona and worked for a law firm. Quickly realizing that practicing law was not her dream, she quit her legal job and founded Outstanding Occasions in 2004. Her analytical and business skills combined with her ambition to create and design enabled her to establish a successful wedding and event planning business.

FUN FACTS ABOUT HEATHER
If you could choose to hire one, which one would it be: maid, chef or hair stylist/makeup artist? Definitely hair stylist/makeup artist. My dyson and I are in love, so I don’t mind the cleaning. Although I don’t cook as much as I used to, I really like to and I am a great cook, if I do say so myself. So hubby, if you read this, I will happily accept my personal hair stylist/makeup artist for my birthday this year.

What is your nickname? I so didn’t want to have to answer this, but my dad used to call me Ralph. I know, really nice huh? Long story short, I used to love the b-ball player, Ralph Sampson. I had his photos and even got him to sign a photo of himself and my mom framed it.

What is the neatest place that you have ever been? Well, I have several favorites (Munich, Germany; Paris, France; Bern, Switzerland), but my most favorite is Cinque Terre, Italy. My husband and I traveled to the five villages (Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore.) So beautiful!

What is your favorite game? Stratego. My husband and I love this game and I love singing “I am the champion, my friend,” when I beat him.

In the town you grew up in, what are the 3 things you miss the most? My family (almost all of them live there.) Compton’s Cow Palace…I heart you. Bear’s Den: I miss your homemade root beer and blockbuster basket. Yummy!

What is your favorite food? Everyday food: kettle corn. Special occasion: clams and mussles atop linguini. Favorite drink: Come on…do the Dew!

What is your favorite day of the week and why? Sunday. I love hanging out with my family!

What I most admire about Jennifer: Her sweet southern charm. Although she has lived in NYC and San Francisco, she is a Oklahoma girl at heart. Just ask any of her friends! She is loyal, trustworthy and genuinely cares about the people in her life. Jennifer is a gem and I am so honored to call her my business partner and my friend.

What is something that people don’t know about you? Well, my close friends and family know this about me, but others usually don’t: I LOVE TO DANCE. Since the club scene doesn’t really happen anymore with my little girl, we now often have dance parties in the living room. The booty shake is London and I’s specialty.

Why do you love your job? I love working with amazing people. I love collaborating on unique designs. I love meeting phenomenal event professionals. I really love seeing people enjoy the event that was created for them.
