Annee & Scott’s Wedding at Commemorative Air Force Museum | Outstanding Weddings
We shared a small peek at Annee and Scott’s Wedding which was featured on Style Me Pretty’s Little Black Blog, which you can see here, and today we are excited to share many more of the details!
Annee and Scott’s journey to their wedding started off with fireworks, (literally their engagement featured fireworks), and I knew their wedding day would be no different. When Annee told me that her father collected vintage airplanes and told me she wanted to incorporate this throughout the day, my brain was spinning with tons of vintage, art deco and glam design ideas. Here was a bit of inspiration for their special day:
The day started with Scott and Annee getting ready at the lush Firesky Resort & Spa. We were lucky enough to have Stephanie Fay on hand to capture the day and Zethina to perfect the girls hair and makeup. I loved Annee’s bold red lips, and how adorable are her two dogs, Jack & Jill?
Annee’s wedding dress from Lillian Lottie Couture was gorgeous with intricate detailing and rhinestones. I especially adored Annee’s brooch bouquet, which included one of the custom “wing” pins that were made for their wedding day.
The groomsmen all wore special airplane cufflinks, but Scott’s were extra special featuring a plane similar to the one they would be married under later that day.
Annee and Scott opted for a First Look, so they could take advantage of the gorgeous Firesky Resort & Spa Property.
The two photos above are some of my favorites, they capture their personalities perfectly!
Once all their photos were taken at Firesky, they headed to the Commemorative Air Force Museum with their bridal party and immediate family via a vintage Rolls Royce Limo.
Annee and Scott’s ceremony took place under the nose of a B-17, aptly named Sentimental Journey. Wanting their wedding day to be very different, Scott and Annee decided to feature a more relaxed ceremony seating arrangement, which included high and low cocktail tables for guests to sit at.
Vintage designed air mail postcards served as Annee and Scott’s guestbook.
Annee made her grand entrance down the aisle by being flown in via one of her dad’s airplanes. This touch really wowed the guests!
I adore this photo above of Annee and her dad. The sweet interaction of brides and their dads during the walk down the aisle is one that always chokes me up.
Once the nuptials were over, guests were treated to appetizers passed by servers dressed as non other than airline pilots.
With the reception being held actually in an airplane hangar, we knew we would need to soften it up with draping, uplights, and lush florals. The room was truly gorgeous once it was transformed with rentals from Classic Party Rentals and floral from Flora Bella.
To tie in the art deco design, we had custom vinyls made and installed on the dance floor that mimicked their wedding invitations.
Guests entered the reception space by walking underneath an A-26 invader, while the Upper East Side Big Band played jazz and swing tunes.
Scott and Annee’s first dance was perfectly choreographed.
The final surprise of the evening for everyone was a gift Annee’s parents gave to Scott and Annee. They were gifted with their very own airplane. The shock and surprise were quite apparent on both of their faces!
Scott and Annee’s special day ended with a sparkler send off.
