Emmy and Ian said “I Do” this past April at the historic El Chorro Lodge, which is nestled at the base of Camelback and Mummy Mountain in Paradise Valley, Arizona. The authentic desert setting was the perfect backdrop for their elegant and organic wedding, which also featured rustic touches throughout. I loved bringing their vision of an elegant backyard party to life with Emmy and her wonderful mother Anna. It was so much fun seeing every detail we designed for this special day come to life. Today, we are thrilled to share with you their wedding which is featured on Style Me Pretty. VENUE: El Chorro Lodge
COLOR PALETTE: Ivory, Dusty Rose, and Champagne with Lace and Twine Accents
INSPIRATION: Elegant Backyard Dinner Party, Romantic Fete with Organic Desert Details
Emmy and Ian’s day started with wedding prep at the gorgeous Montelucia Resort & Spa. Since Ian’s parents are also residents at the resort, they were able to take a few photos on property. The gorgeous photo of the two above was taken steps away from Ian’s parents villa. Once everyone was prepped and ready to go, the bridal party was taken to El Chorro Lodge via Ollie the Trolley for the ceremony. Emmy and Ian’s interfaith ceremony took place on the Casa Paloma Wedding Lawn. Their wooden chuppah created by Petal Pusher was designed to accent the stunning mountain views. We incorporated Emmy and Ian’s Christian and Jewish faith by including readings from each scripture during the ceremony. The personalized ceremony was completed with a breaking of the glass. Each guest was given ivory petals in a burlap “toss me” bag to throw as Emmy and Ian walked back down the aisle as husband and wife.
After the ceremony, guests were invited to the Casa Paloma Patio for cocktail hour. They were greeted by a bar adorned with tasseled balloons, a burlap sign saying “cocktails” and desert inspired prickly pear margaritas. To make guests feel more “at home”, we brought in a blue grass band and had customized corn hole games made for them to play. Cocktail tables were sprinkled around the patio with organic muslin linens patterned with twine, and florals in rustic glass vases. Guests seating assignments were pinned to strips of lace and ribbon on a large beveled mirror, surrounded by loose floral in wooden crates and candles.
After cocktail hour, guests were welcomed in to Casa Paloma for a night of dinner and dancing. The room was bathed in a soft white light, and featured tables with ivory linens capped with champagne lace. Each place setting had a customized menu created by idieh design that was slipped in to an ivory napkin and was finished with a champagne bow. Each table featured one of three centerpieces that were full of loose and lush flowers that were placed in a glass or crystal base. The fireplace mantle was a key piece in the room and was adorned with foliage and floral and finished with a “And they lived happily ever after…” sign. The dance floor, that guests would later dance the night away on, was personalized with a vinyl decal that matched Emmy and Ian’s other stationery pieces. As the night started winding down, Emmy and Ian gave their guests a sweet send off by sending each one home with their favorite lemon cake cookies from Arcadia Farms.
