We love to learn.  We love to educate.  We love everything BUSINESS!  That is why we created the Outstanding Wedding Planner Mentorship Program.

Okay, let’s back up for a second.  Although we love fabrics, flowers, lighting and decor, what brought both of us together is our love for BUSINESS (well, the capability to be creative and run a business!)  We are one of the few co-owned wedding planning businesses in the country.  We run a streamlined, debt free (yes, you heard right…debt free) event planning company and have incorporated technology, social media and processes into our business that allow our company to run effectively and efficiently.  We began to get a lot of emails and questions about how to begin an event planning company and also from wedding and event planners that wanted advice on how to improve their existing business.  In the fall of 2010, we started our one-on-one (or I guess two-on-one) mentorship program for wedding planners.

So, what is included in our mentorships?
Well, like our wedding planning services, we customize our mentorships to each client’s needs.  Meetings are one hour sessions with dates scheduled to fit your needs.  Assignments are scheduled and tasks are due at each meeting.  These are some of the topics that we can discuss:

Why should you choose our mentorship over other wedding planning mentorships, workshops or seminars that are offered?
What makes us different is that we work with you one-on-one.  (Well, that and the fact that we are really fun, cool people!)  We talk about YOUR company.  So, when we talk about pricing or branding, we talk about pricing and branding for YOUR company, not generally about wedding planning businesses.   Also, you are getting ideas, information or feedback from two people (yes, we agree with the saying “two heads are better than one.”)  Plus, you don’t even have to leave your office or home to meet us.  We Skype with our mentees!  This makes it so easy for us to mentor wedding planners from different states!

What is the investment?
The investment for our wedding planner mentorships begins at $2550 and ranges depending on what topics are included.  We offer payment plans for our mentees.  We require a $200 retainer to begin the mentorship.

If you are interested in the Outstanding Mentorship Program, what is the process?
If you are interested in our mentorship program, please email mentorship@outstanding-occasions.com with Mentorship Applicant in the subject line.  We will email you a Mentorship Questionnaire that will ask for specific information about your company so that we can evaluate what topics we believe need to be covered as a part of your mentorship.  (This is a time where you need to be honest!  If you don’t have a business plan, don’t say that you do, because we will request the document for review. If you don’t use Quickbooks or some financial software, don’t tell us that you do, because we will ask for reports.)  Once we receive the questionnaire and documents requested back from you, we will email you a customized proposal with a detailed description of our recommended topics for the mentorship with the total investment.  If you decide to hire Outstanding Occasions, we will email you an electronic agreement and invoice for your retainer.  After we receive both the signed agreement and initial payment, we will create an online calendar for the sessions including a topic for each meeting.  At the end of the sessions, we will conclude with a wrap-up session.
